Our first priority is your secure communication. A few days ago, Atlassian announced "upcoming changes to Data Center products and apps", which turned out to be that Atlassian Data Center apps and products will reach end of life on March 28, 2029 (with some exceptions, see below). We want to assure you right away: we remain fully committed to supporting S/Notify Email Encryption until the very last day — and beyond where possible.
Atlassian has made it clear that their long-term strategy is Cloud. While many customers are already embracing it, we know that our customers, having high security and compliance needs, have relied on Data Center. However, Atlassian has now made it clear that they see only Cloud as the future and are committed to evolving the platform to meet the needs of all customers.
While we believe that these assumptions are probably wrong for many customers using S/Notify, we wanted to communicate our plans for S/Notify, so you, our valued customers, know what to expect from our side.
Note that there are exceptions, see below.

First of all, for all Data Center customers, we want to make clear that we have no plans of ending maintenance or support for S/Notify Email Encryption. We commit to maintaining and supporting S/Notify Email Encryption right through to the final day of Data Center.
Atlassian Bitbucket is a notable exception:
"For Bitbucket Data Center customers, we understand your source code is particularly sensitive. To give you maximum flexibility, we’re launching a new license option that will give you access to both Bitbucket Data Center and Bitbucket Cloud, allowing you to operate in whichever environment your business prefers beyond March 2029."
We therefore plan to continue our support of S/Notify Email Encryption for Bitbucket beyond March 28, 2029.
Atlassian announced that for "certain Data Center customers with unique circumstances", they’re committed to offering extended maintenance by exception after March 28, 2029. We do not know the exact details, but we are willing to continue our support of S/Notify Email Encryption for these customers.

Unfortunately, Jira and Confluence Cloud have certain limitations. That's the reason why many apps are either not available for Cloud or offer reduced functionality compared to their self-hosted editions. We are still evaluating options, but it is clear that we need Atlassian to provide necessary APIs, and it is difficult to estimate if and when they will become available.
If you consider switching to cloud, please let Atlassian know that you need Email Encryption. That would definitely help to make them more aware. You may do so by adding your vote to one or all of the following Atlassian tickets:
